Half-Time Report: Ricardo Quaresma brace puts Porto ahead

Ricardo Quaresma scores two goal in the first 10 minutes to give Porto a 2-1 half-time lead over Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Two goals inside the opening 10 minutes from Ricardo Quaresma have given Porto a 2-1 lead over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final this evening.

The home side were handed an early opportunity to take the lead when Manuel Neuer sprinted off his line, bringing down Jackson Martinez in the process to concede a penalty.

The keeper avoided a red card, but guessed the wrong way while diving to try to stop Quaresma's spot kick, leaving the winger to slot into the bottom corner.

Quaresma doubled Porto's advantage inside the opening 10 minutes when Dante failed to close him down, leaving the captain to burst into the box before rifling past Neuer for a second time.

Philipp Lahm tried to inspire the Bayern fightback, picking out Thomas Muller with a long ball forward, but Alex Sandro beat the striker to it, while Bruno Martins Indi stopped Robert Lewandowski breaking through.

The German champions kept pressing though, and reduced the deficit just before the hour mark when Jerome Boateng crossed the ball in for Thiago Alcantara to tap it at the far post.

Porto came close to restoring the two-goal cushion before the break when Martinez crossed the ball in, but miscued it, leaving Neuer out of position, but the delivery was kept out by the crossbar.
