Franck Ribery on "the right track" following surgery

Bayern Munich's French international Franck Ribery undergoes successful surgery to repair a buttock complaint.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has come through surgery on a buttock complaint.

The German side revealed last week that he needed an operation to repair the damage caused by a burst blood vessel.

The 30-year-old has now been under the knife, and club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt has confirmed that he is on "the right track" following that procedure.

It is believed that Ribery will return to training next week, but is likely to miss the first leg of Bayern's Champions League last-16 tie with Arsenal.
