Franck Ribery has said that Bayern Munich have been waiting a long time to win the Champions League following last night's victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Defeat to Inter Milan in 2010 and Chelsea last year had left the Bavarians heartbroken, but Arjen Robben's late goal at Wembley sealed a fifth crown for the Bavarian side.
"There are so many words. We are very happy, very satisfied to have won this trophy, because we have waited for so long," Ribery told UEFA.com.
"It was very difficult in the first 30 minutes. Games against Dortmund are always difficult because they are a very good team. We believed, we didn't give up, and we deserve this trophy."
Bayern join Liverpool on five European titles, behind AC Milan (7) and Real Madrid (9).
