Bayern Munich produced an impressive display as they hammered Roma 7-1 in their Champions League Group E match this evening.

Arjen Robben scored twice and further efforts from Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller gave the visitors an unassailable lead at half time.

Gervinho pulled one back for Roma after the break, but Franck Ribery and Xherdan Shaqiri scored late on to seal a comfortable win.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during an incredible 90 minutes.

ROMA

Goal

Morgan De Sanctis: Was left exposed far too often by his defence as Bayern recorded 22 shots on goal. However, he was at fault for the seventh goal his side conceded as he spilled a shot from Rafinha, allowing Shaqiri to score from the rebound. (5/10)

Defence

Ashley Cole: Had a torrid evening at left-back and struggled to deal with the threat of Robben. He allowed the Dutchman to cut inside of him and get a shot away for the first goal, while he was caught out badly as the winger ran through to score his second of the match. Was replaced at half time by Florenzi. (4/10)

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: The on-loan defender could not cope with the pace and strength of the Bayern attack. Completely lost Lewandowski as the Pole scored Bayern's third goal of the evening and was caught out as Robben slid in Ribery to score the sixth. (5/10)

Kostas Manolas: He has enjoyed a fine start to his Roma career, but this was a night to forget. Just like his defensive partner Yanga-Mbiwa he failed to deal with Bayern's forwards and gave away a penalty when he handled a cross from Alaba. (5/10)

Vasileios Torosidis: Was caught out on his flank as Bernat got in behind him to set up Lewandowksi's goal. Was booked in the second half for a poor tackle on Muller. (4/10)

Midfield

Radja Nainggolan: Gave the ball away far too cheaply on a number of occasions. Could not exert his usual influence on the match as Bayern dominated the midfield. (5/10)

Miralem Pjanic: Had very little impact on the match as his team struggled to win possession. Was eventually replaced by Ljajic late in the second half. (5/10)

Daniele De Rossi: Just like his fellow midfielders the Italian struggled to see much of the ball. Could not impose himself and struggled to keep up with the pace of the match. (5/10)

Attack

Juan Iturbe: Not the best of display from the Argentine, who was so influential in Roma's first group match. Had a few attempts on goal, but never came close to beating Neuer. (6/10)

Francesco Totti: Infective performance by the Roma captain. Hardly had a touch of the ball and was replaced at half time. (5/10)

Gervinho: The Ivorian was the standout player of the evening for the hosts. He always looked to pose a threat in the attack and netted his side's only goal of the match. Could have scored more, but was denied by a combination of Neuer and the woodwork. (7/10)

Substitutes

Alessandro Florenzi: Came on at half time and played a part in Roma's goal. (6/10)

Adem Ljaic: Replaced Pjanic in the closing stages but hardly saw any of the ball. (5/10)

Jose Holebas: Was brought on for Cole at half time and helped to stop Robben's impact on the wing. (6/10)

BAYERN MUNICH

Goal

Manuel Neuer: Made a vital save with his side 1-0 up deny Gervinho an equaliser. He was at his best again in the second half to stop the Ivorian from point-blank range as he showed just why he is the best keeper in the world. (7/10)

Defence

Medhi Benatia: The Moroccan would have expected a tougher night on his return to Rome, but did not have too much to do as his side completely dominated. (6/10)

Jerome Boateng: Was not given the toughest of evenings, but Gervinho did cause him some problems with his pace and well-timed runs. (6/10)

David Alaba: While he was not troubled defensively he played a part in Bayern's fifth goal of the match, as it was his cross that led to Manolas giving away the penalty that Muller scored from. (7/10)

Midfield

Xabi Alonso: The Spaniard has been in fine form since his move to Bayern and once again impressed in the middle. He hardly misplaced a pass and kept his team ticking over. (8/10)

Juan Bernat: Was a great outlet for Bayern on the left wing and set up Lewandowski's goal with a fine cross. (7/10)

Phillip Lahm: Solid performance as usual from the captain. Set up Robben for the first goal and did not put a foot wrong. (7/10)

Mario Gotze: Fine display from the German who scored Bayern's second of the night with a well-taken finish. Roma found it hard to keep up with his runs and he always looked a threat. (8/10)

Arjen Robben: Sensational performance from the Dutchman who was at the peak of his powers. He took his first goal exceptionally well and made a fine run for his second. His through ball to Ribery for the seventh goal of the evening capped an outstanding night. (9/10)

Attack

Thomas Muller: Linked up brilliantly with Gotze for the second goal and showed great composure to score his penalty. The Roma defence struggled to deal with his movement all evening. (8/10)

Robert Lewandowksi: The Pole was brilliant in the Bayern attack and was part of his team's best moves. He put the game beyond doubt with a fine header and played a wonderful through ball to set up Robben for the fourth. (8/10)

Substitutes

Xherdan Shaqiri: Came on with 10 minutes left and scored almost immediately with a fine strike into the roof of the net. (6/10)

Franck Ribery: Was brought on for Lewandowski midway through the second half and found the net with a delightful chip over De Sanctis. (7/10)

Rafinha: Played a part in Ribery's goal when his strike was spilled by the keeper. (6/10)
