Pep Guardiola: 'Hunger still there for German Cup'

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola insists that his side are motivated to beat Hannover in the German Cup tomorrow night.

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that his side will take the defence of their German Cup seriously this season.

Last season's treble winners have hit top form in recent weeks, with an eye-catching 4-0 win at Schalke 04 last weekend moving them to joint-top in the Bundesliga.

Guardiola has declared that there will be no sign of complacency from Bayern against Hannover tomorrow night, in a second-round clash at the Allianz Arena.

He told the club's official website: "In Germany, the cup competition is very, very dangerous. One bad game and you are out. But we are ready.

"In the past few games, the team have played well. They have played with hunger to win. Tomorrow, that hunger will still be there."

Hannover are back in Bavaria for the second time in as many weeks, with Bayern prevailing in a gritty 2-0 win in the Bundesliga last time out.
