Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has insisted that he felt no sympathy for his former club Schalke 04 during last weekend's Bundesliga clash between the two clubs.
Pep Guardiola's side were dominant in a 4-0 win at the Veltins-Arena, with Franck Ribery and Mario Mandzukic helping Bayern maintain their unbeaten start in the Bundesliga.
Neuer started his career with Schalke and made more than 150 senior appearances across five seasons in Gelsenkirchen, but is adamant that he did not let sentiment come into his thinking on Saturday.
He told TZ: "I did not feel compassion for Schalke, absolutely not.
"I'm a Bayern player now, so I was obviously only thinking about Bayern. I'm a professional and I play for Bayern because I take my job seriously and always want to win.
"I wouldn't have mind if we had won by five or six goals."
Bayern went joint-top in the Bundealisga with that win over Schalke, level with arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund on 16 points after six games.
