England captain Harry Kane says that he made the move to Bayern Munich in order to feel the pressure of challenging for trophies every season.

Harry Kane has insisted that he will relish the pressure of playing for Bayern Munich, with the England captain bidding to help the Munich giants be successful in every competition that they enter.

The 30-year-old completed his move to Allianz Arena on Saturday and made his debut as a second-half substitute in his side's 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

Kane is now preparing to make his first Bundesliga outing against Werder Bremen on Friday evening, and the striker has opened up on the challenge of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I had a good pre-season, a lot of training and a lot of games, and now this week, I've naturally gone into the team environment and settled in really well," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"I'm excited to get the season started. Any first game of a league season is exciting because you are ready to go and eager to show what you can do.

"It's going to be a tough game like every game will be away from home, but I'm excited to try and show Bayern Munich and show the fans what I've been doing my whole career and win the game.

"A lot of people talk about the trophies and why I came here, but ultimately it was to improve, to feel a new pressure of having to win titles every year, having to go far in the Champions League and pushing myself to that limit.

"If you are winning games, if you are winning titles, if you are winning Champions League titles and I'm the one playing up front, it's more likely that I am going to be the one scoring goals, which then allows you to win other individual awards.

"But that all comes from what you achieve as a team. That is my focus first and foremost and that starts this Friday. We've got a long season ahead. There's a lot of pressure for Bayern Munich to win the league and go far in the Champions League, and that is what I am excited to challenge myself with.

"When you are at a club like Bayern Munich you have to win. There are no questions about it. If you don't win or you don't perform well there is going to be question marks over you. I have been able to handle that over my career, whether it is with Tottenham or with England.

"Starting the new season, you always want to start well with a good result. An away game first will be tough but if we can win that we can set up a good bit of confidence for the rest of the month.

"It's hard to put a number on how many trophies you want to win but I have always said throughout my whole career I never want to retire and feel like I could have done more or I could have pushed myself a little bit more.

"That was a big part of the decision-making process of coming to Bayern Munich because to improve and to get better I had to be playing at the highest level.

"Of course, I want to win every competition I play in. That is the ultimate goal every season but when you finish your career, whenever that may be, you just want to make sure you've pushed yourself to your limits and that is what I'll continue to do."

Kane was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid before completing a move to Bayern, with the club allegedly paying an initial £86m for his services.
