Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to let Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele leave this summer to make way for a new big-money signing in midfield.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele available for transfer this summer.

Neither player featured in the side's 2-2 draw with Brentford in their Premier League opener on Sunday.

Ndombele is currently out injured, while new manager Ange Postecoglou left Hojbjerg on the bench, preferring a midfield duo of Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp.

After spending last year on loan at Serie A champions Napoli, it is believed that club-record signing Ndombele will be sold in the final few weeks of the window.

Hojbjerg has also been linked with an exit this summer, with Atletico Madrid thought to be keen admirers of the Denmark international.

Football Insider claims that Spurs are looking to move ahead with a new signing in midfield, and therefore, allowing Hojbjerg and Ndombele to leave.

Both players have two years left on their current deals, so the hope is that both can attract a decent transfer fee which can be used to bolster the squad.

Hojbjerg has been a regular in his previous three seasons in North London, missing just five Premier League games, but he appears to be out-of-favour with the club's new Australian manager.

Spurs also received a reported £86m for Harry Kane after the England captain moved to Bayern Munich over the weekend.

New recruits more favoured by Postecoglou are expected to arrive with the money that has been brought in, after a number of senior players were omitted from the squad on Sunday.

While Hojbjerg was at least in the matchday squad, long-serving duo Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier were left out, along with Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence and Japhet Tanganga.

Recent arrivals Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and James Maddison all started their season opener, as Postecoglou looks set to oversee an overhaul in the Spurs squad.

Kane's departure may see the club bring in a focal point in attack, but the report states that a big-money midfield acquisition looks set to be a priority.
