Bastian Schweinsteiger: 'Bayern Munich in good shape'

Bayern Munich are in good shape and "ready for anything", according to vice-captain Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is hopeful that Bayern Munich can extend their fine form both domestically and in Europe.

Munich are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table with a game in hand on their closest rivals, and face Arsenal in the Champions League next month for a place in the quarter-finals of the elite competition.

"We have only won one game in the second half of the season, so we'll still have to pick up a few points," the midfielder told German website Spox. "It's good that we have started so confidently. We will try to defend our title and also the Champions League.

"We have the chance to do so. There are four or five teams who want to get this trophy, but, if we are in good shape and all the players are together, we are ready for everything."

Pep Guardiola's side travel to Stuttgart on the weekend looking to extend their lead in the German top flight.
