Former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Brett Emerton has praised the strength in depth of Australia's squad.
The 32-year-old believes that the current Australian squad is the strongest in recent memory and that they are well set in their bid for World Cup qualification.
"It's the best it's been for a long, long time, and we're going to need each and every player in the squad over the coming years," said Emerton.
"Obviously there's a lot of games so we'll pick up injuries along the way, but we've shown that the players who have stepped in are up to the task and I feel very comfortable that we'll get the job done and qualify for the next World Cup."
Australia beat Oman 3-0 on Tuesday night, despite the absence of Tim Cahill, Mark Schwarzer and Harry Kewell.
Emerton now plies his trade with FC Sydney after leaving Blackburn during the January transfer window.
