Team News: Hope Akpan in for Danny Guthrie for Blackburn Rovers

Hope Akpan replaces Danny Guthrie in the Blackburn Rovers lineup for the Championship clash with Ipswich Town this afternoon.

Hope Akpan has replaced Danny Guthrie in Blackburn Rovers' lineup for the Championship clash with Ipswich Town this afternoon.

That is the only change to the side which drew 1-1 with Hull City last weekend, as Tom Lawrence continues to support Jordan Rhodes in attack.

Bengali-Fode Koita remains out through injury, while Adam Henley, Shane Duffy, Grant Hanley and Marcus Olsson line up in a defence which has not conceded at Ewood Park since August 18.

For the visitors, there are two enforced changes as Jonas Knudsen and Ryan Fraser are ruled out through illness and injury respectively, with Jonathan Parr coming in at left-back and Larsen Toure getting a start in midfield.

Mick McCarthy has chosen to continue with the partnership of Freddie Sears and Darryl Murphy up front, meaning that David McGoldrick again has to make do with a place as a substitute.

Blackburn Rovers: Steele; Henley, Duffy, Hanley, Olsson; Marshall, Evans, Akpan, Conway; Lawrence, Rhodes
Subs: Raya, Spurr, Delfouneso, Williamson, Taylor, Petshi, Lenihan

Ipswich Town: Gerken; Chambers, Smith, Berra, Parr; Skuse, Douglas, Maitland-Niles, Toure; Murphy, Sears
Subs: Bialkowski, Malarczyk, Emmanuel, Bru, Oar, Pitman, McGoldrick
