Saturday's Championship predictions including Middlesbrough vs. Millwall

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Middlesbrough vs. Millwall.

Bristol City vs. QPR (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Looking to build on a respectable draw on the road earlier in the week, Bristol City will welcome Queens Park Rangers to Ashton Gate for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Robins were denied maximum points by a last-gasp Sunderland equaliser in the North-East on Tuesday, one day before the R's enjoyed a routine home success over relegation rivals Oxford United.

We say: Bristol City 1-1 Queens Park Rangers

With a habit of struggling against the poorer sides in the Championship, Bristol City will need to break out of their worrying ways to earn maximum points this weekend.

QPR have found a much-needed defensive stubbornness over recent weeks and should be able to keep the score down to record a point in the West Country.

Coventry vs. Hull City (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Aiming to earn their second success under the stewardship of Frank Lampard, Coventry City will welcome Hull City to the Coventry Building Society Arena for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues were made to pay for their lack of ruthlessness at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night, whilst the Tigers picked up a point at home to Watford on Humberside.

We say: Coventry City 2-0 Hull City

After ruing missed chances against West Brom on Wednesday, Coventry will be raring to show their ruthless side versus a Hull outfit who struggle to keep clean sheets.

We are expecting a backs-to-the-wall approach from the Tigers this weekend as they attempt to be solid on the road, but we cannot envisage a positive result for Selles's men.

Preston vs. Leeds (Saturday, 12.30pm)

High-flying Leeds United travel to Preston North End this weekend for a Championship clash at Deepdale, hoping to keep the pressure on league leaders Sheffield United.

The visitors trail the Blades by a point in the league table, but a draw or win against Preston would send Leeds top for a few hours at least, with Chris Wilder's side facing Plymouth Argyle later in the afternoon.

We say: Preston North End 1-2 Leeds United

While Leeds have struggled on the road in recent weeks, their firepower should be enough to overcome Preston here.

As the Championship's leading scorers, they will aim to pile the pressure on Sheffield United at the top, and we think they will do that with a 2-1 victory at Deepdale this weekend.

Blackburn vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers continue their promotion push this weekend as they host Luton Town in a Championship clash at Ewood Park.

The hosts are fifth in the standings after 19 games, while their opponents sit 15th, having played one match more than Rovers.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 2-0 Luton Town

We expect Luton's poor away form to continue at Ewood Park this weekend, as a strong Blackburn side will be eager for all three points as they continue their playoff push.

With the hosts keeping clean sheets in each of their last four matches, we expect that trend to continue here in a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Middlesbrough vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Millwall Head Coach Neil Harris looks on on November 23, 2024© Imago

Neil Harris takes charge of Millwall for the final time this weekend, as his side make the long journey up north to take on Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Only six points separate the two teams in the standings, with Middlesbrough in seventh and the Lions in 13th position heading into this match.

We say: Middlesbrough 1-1 Millwall

Millwall will want to end the Harris era on a high and will move to within three points of Middlesbrough in the standings if they win at the Riverside Stadium this weekend.

Although Millwall will be motivated to get the three points, we think that this game ends in a draw - the visitors have more draws than wins so far this season and they are capable of getting a point on Saturday.

Oxford Utd vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both aiming to bounce back from midweek defeats, Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday will square off at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have dropped to 20th spot in the Championship table in the midst of a five-match winless streak, while their visitors sit 12th after seeing a four-game unbeaten run come to an end on Tuesday.

We say: Oxford United 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday have impressed on the road recently and should have enough to get back to winning ways against an Oxford United side who are lacking confidence and slipping towards the drop zone.

Sheff Utd vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield United will welcome Plymouth Argyle to Bramall Lane on Saturday for an important game at both ends of the Championship table.

The hosts kept hold of top spot with an away win over Millwall on Wednesday, while their visitors dropped to 23rd spot following a third straight defeat in midweek.

We say: Sheffield United 2-0 Plymouth Argyle

Given their recent struggles and lack of confidence, we do not back Plymouth Argyle to end Sheffield United's formidable home run, instead anticipating another three-point haul and clean sheet for Chris Wilder's men.

Stoke vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both desperately looking to halt six-game winless runs, relegation rivals Stoke City and Cardiff City will clash for an all-important Championship battle at bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Potters endured another disappointing second-tier outing at Luton Town earlier in the week, whilst the Bluebirds produced a limp display in South Wales against Preston North End.

We say: Stoke City 2-0 Cardiff City

In the midst of a six-game winless run, Stoke will view Saturday's visit of relegation rivals Cardiff as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways.

The Bluebirds will be bruised after their woeful Wednesday night with Preston, and we feel that the Welsh outfit's luckless spell on the road will stretch to 10 games.

Swansea vs. Sunderland (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two teams vying for promotion to the Premier League face off this weekend, as Sunderland travel to South Wales to take on Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Five places and 10 points separate the two sides in the Championship table, but with the visitors winning just one of their last eight games, the Swans will sense an opportunity to close that gap this weekend.

We say: Swansea City 1-0 Sunderland

Both sides have come through difficult spells during this season and they will be hoping that their worst form is already behind them.

However, Swansea have picked up their form in recent weeks, and we think they may sneak a 1-0 win here against a Sunderland side that have found it difficult away from home over the past two months.
