Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has expressed his delight at signing Northern Ireland international midfielder Corry Evans.

The 23-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year contract at Ewood Park yesterday after joining from Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

"We're delighted that we've been able to bring him in," Bowyer told the club's official website. "He's got great pedigree, having come from Manchester United before he was at Hull.

"He's a great lad and he's another winner. He experienced promotion with Hull and played a key role in it and I'm looking forward to working with him.

"He's a midfielder who will be competitive in the Championship. He can handle the ball, he's not afraid to put his foot in and whatever system we way, whether it's two in midfield or three in midfield, he's more than capable of fitting in with any of those roles."

Evans will not make his debut against Derby County this afternoon as he has a groin injury.
