Blackburn Rovers reportedly opted not to discuss rumours that Jordan Rhodes is about to sign a new contract with the club last night.
It is believed that talks between the two parties over extended terms recently took place, with the club keen to warn potential suitors off the Scotland international.
However, when asked by the Lancashire Evening Telegraph if the discussions had reached a successful conclusion, Rovers declined to comment.
Rhodes, who has three years left to run on his current deal at Ewood Park, has scored 44 goals during his 82 appearances for Rovers.
