Paul Robinson seeking Blackburn Rovers exit in January

Paul Robinson admits that his Blackburn Rovers career is over he and will be seeking a move in January.

Paul Robinson has revealed that he is seeking a move away from Blackburn Rovers in January after admitting that his career at Ewood Park is over.

The former England international had started the season as first-choice keeper, but since the loan signing of Jason Steele from Middlesbrough, Robinson has not featured for the Lancashire club and the 35-year-old admits that the time is right to leave.

He told talkSPORT: "I'm pretty much surplus to requirements at Blackburn. I'm not even on the bench. I'm training hard at the moment though. My contract is up at the end of the season so I'm not sure if that's got anything to do with it. I want to keep playing and, I believe, I've got another two or three years left in me.

"If something comes up now and it works for everybody then I have to look at what's best for me going forward. I'm getting a little bit frustrated now. It's the first time in my career that anything like this [has happened].

"I want to keep on playing. It's difficult training all week with no end product. Hopefully I'll have a few options to look around [in January]."

Robinson spent four seasons at Tottenham Hotspur before joining Rovers in 2008.
