Ian Holloway is hoping that a lack of acknowledgement from the media could help his Blackpool side gain promotion this season.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway believes that his side have not been given the credit that they deserve this season.

The Tangerines secured a Championship play-off spot by defeating Burnley 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Holloway believes that his squad's performance have been worthy of greater praise from the media.

However, he is hoping that it could work in their favour as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

"Maybe people don't fancy us, but who cares. It's going to be difficult for anybody to face us," the boss told BBC Radio Lancashire. "It was funny because no one's mentioned us. They mentioned all the other games but they didn't mention us against Leeds in the one paper I read.

"They mentioned Middlesbrough, they mentioned Birmingham almost cementing their place, they mentioned Cardiff almost cementing their place.

"I was fuming, but my wife said 'don't worry, just sneak under the radar and keep enjoying it' and that's what it's all about."

Blackpool are currently fourth in the Championship table.
