Preview: Blackpool vs. Derby County

Sports Mole previews Tuesday night's Championship match at Bloomfield Road as rock-bottom Blackpool take on high-flying Derby County.

Blackpool are starting to get left behind in the Championship and they won't face many tougher opponents than Derby County, who visit Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night, this season.

Jose Riga's Tangerines are five points adrift of safety and now bottom of the table after Bolton Wanderers picked up their first win in five games in Neil Lennon's first game in charge.

Blackpool failed to build on their first win of the campaign before the international break when they visited Huddersfield Town on Saturday, going down 4-2 in West Yorkshire after a calamitous start to the game.

Huddersfield were 3-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes and, although Blackpool pulled it back to 3-2, they couldn't pull off a miraculous comeback.

Riga is hoping that he will be able to welcome back Joan Oriol and Jose Miguel Cubero for the visit of high-flying Derby.

The Rams are now second in the table after Saturday's rousing 3-0 victory at Reading which extended their unbeaten run to nine games.

Steve McClaren named an unchanged side against the Royals, but he will be forced into changes at Bloomfield Road.

Jamie Ward came off injured after setting up the first goal and he will now miss out with a thigh strain, while Craig Bryson and Lee Grant might also have to sit out.

Derby won both games between the two last season and have also won five of their last six games against the Tangerines.
