Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon: "We lacked quality" in Hull City defeat

Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon says that his side lacked a clinical edge in the final third in their narrow 1-0 defeat to Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has bemoaned his side's lack of quality in the final third in their defeat to Hull City in the Championship.

The Trotters extended their winless run to 14 matches as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the KC Stadium as Chuba Akpom scored the only goal of the match.

Lennon believes that the difference between the teams was the clinical edge shown by the Tigers as his side were denied a point when Neil Danns struck the post in the second half.

He told BBC Sport: "They showed plenty of the right attitude. We lacked quality in the final third. That has been the crux of our season.

"I didn't think we played particularly well in the first half in midfield but the second half was a lot better.

"It makes Charlton a huge game on Tuesday night. I would never question their commitment or their attitude but quality counts."

Bolton remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship following their defeat, and are five points adrift of safety.
