Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink content with Queens Park Rangers display in first game

Queens Park Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that there were plenty of positives to build on from his first game in charge of the club against Burnley.

Queens Park Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that he was satisfied with the performance of his team in his first game in charge.

The R's played out a goalless draw with Burnley in a game of few chances as striker Charlie Austin was left on the bench by the Dutchman, while Grant Hall had the home side's best opportunity of the game when he saw his header cleared off the line.

Hasselbaink has admitted that he was content with the display of his team and feels that there are plenty of positives to build on for the rest of the campaign.

He told BBC Sport: "I learned that we have a team that is willing to work for each other. There are a lot of positives and it's nice to see that the guys want to work and play football.

"Players are going to make mistakes, but it's about expressing yourself and reacting when you do make mistakes. The players showed they want to do things right.

"I am happy with how the game went. In the first half we played ever so well and were the better team."

QPR are 13th in the table after 20 matches this season.
