Francis Gillot believes that Bordeaux should have won against Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 on Friday.

Bordeaux coach Francis Gillot has expressed his disappointment with his side's goalless draw with Saint-Etienne away from home in Ligue 1.

The point saw the former French champions move up to ninth in the league table with 49 points from 35 matches.

"It's a point won because we had a reshuffled side and were playing against a side pushing for Europe," he told reporters. "The team was very courageous, but we lacked a little technical precision.

"When we won the ball back we weren't able to do much with it as there were too many mistakes. That's the regret I have.

"Up front, we didn't show much, but we did what we had to do at the back. Cedric Carrasso made some top-class stops. That's not enough. We have to work more going forward."

Saint-Etienne are fourth in the standings.
