Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus has become the latest player to be ruled out of Germany's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden.
Reus is sidelined after suffering torn ankle ligaments in Dortmund's first Bundesliga defeat of the season last weekend, a 2-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Dortmund are already without a whole host of first-team regulars through injury, including Ilkay Gundogan, Nuri Sahin, Sven Bender and Sebastian Kehl.
Bender and Gundogan were already ruled out of international duty this week but now Germany boss Joachim Low must also do without Reus, with Hamburger SV defender Heiko Westermann called in to make up the numbers.
Dortmund youngster Jonas Hofmann will also play no part for Germany's Under-21 side during the international break, after being forced to withdraw with tendinitis in his left knee.
