Half-Time Report: Lewis Grabban puts Bournemouth ahead

Lewis Grabban puts Bournemouth ahead just before half time in their game against Wigan Athletic this afternoon.

Lewis Grabban has given Bournemouth a 1-0 lead over Wigan Athletic at half time in the Championship.

Grabban had an early chance for the home side, but Scott Carson was eventually able to claim the ball to end the danger for Wigan.

Jean Beausejour and Ben Watson both looked threatening for the visitors as they pushed to break the deadlock, but the Chilean gave away a free kick for a hand ball, while a Watson pass to Grant Holt went begging when the former Norwich City striker was flagged offside.

Brett Pitman put his shot just wide in the 42nd minute, but Grabban was able to find the target less than a minute later, forcing the ball under a diving Carson to give Bournemouth the lead just before the break.

James McArthur tried to level for Wigan in the final moments of the half, but his finish failed to find the target.
