Bournemouth will be looking to avoid an unwanted club record when they welcome Ipswich Town to the Vitality Stadium for Wednesday's Premier League fixture.

Bournemouth are at risk of setting an unwanted club record in Wednesday's Premier League home game against Ipswich Town.

The Cherries have largely impressed in their second season under Andoni Iraola, although their campaign has lost significant momentum in recent times.

Bournemouth have failed to win any of their last six competitive matches in regulation time since beating Southampton 3-1 on February 15.

They lost back-to-back league games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion, before they prevailed in a penalty shootout in their FA Cup fifth-round tie against Wolves.

After losing to Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford, Bournemouth returned from the international break with an FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester City.

Bournemouth looking to avoid unwanted record

Their dreams of winning their first FA Cup were ended by a 2-1 defeat despite taking the lead through Evanilson's 21st-minute opener.

Bournemouth will now turn their focus back to Premier League action, with the Cherries sitting in 10th place and hoping to mount a late push to secure European qualification.

They will surely fancy their chances of taking maximum points from a home game against an Ipswich side languishing in 18th spot in the Premier League table.

However, that may be easier said than done, given the fact that they have lost their last three top-flight matches at the Vitality Stadium.

As a result, they are now at risk of losing four consecutive Premier League home games for the first time in their history.

Bournemouth eyeing league double

Bournemouth did enjoy success in December's reverse fixture against Ipswich at Portman Road, where they staged a late comeback to snatch all three points.

On that occasion, Enes Unal netted a 87th-minute equaliser, before Dango Ouattara scored the winner in the fifth-minute of stoppage time.

Bournemouth now have the chance to complete a league double over the Tractor Boys for the first time since the 1949-50 season.

The hosts are expected to go into the midweek game without the services of Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Unal.
