Raul Meireles closing in on Bournemouth move?

Former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles is reportedly nearing a move to Bournemouth after it was claimed that he is ready to leave Fenerbahce.

Raul Meireles has reportedly agreed to return to the Premier League with Bournemouth after deciding to leave Fenerbahce.

Meireles has spent the last four years in Turkey after leaving Chelsea in 2012 but after it was claimed that he has turned down a new contract in Istanbul, a report has suggested that he will ply his trade in England next season.

According to Turkish website Haber7, the 33-year-old will sign for Eddie Howe's side on a free transfer after rejecting the chance to play for Porto for a second time.

Meireles has a total of 56 Premier League starts to his name after playing for Liverpool during the 2010-11 campaign before spending the next 12 months at Chelsea, a period where he made 11 appearances during their Champions League triumph.

The transfer is expected to be confirmed at the end of the month.
