Cristiane makes it 12 goals at Olympics

Brazil forward Cristiane nets her 12th Olympic goal against New Zealand on Saturday.

Brazil forward Cristiane has put herself firmly in the record books after netting the only goal of the game against New Zealand on Saturday.

The 27-year-old, who also scored in Brazil's win over Cameroon on Wednesday, now has 12 Olympic tournament goals to her name.

"This is special, I knew I was tied and needed just one more to get the record for myself," she told reporters.

She surpasses the record of 10 goals held by former Germany player Birgit Prinz.
