Luis Felipe Scolari: 'Brazil have one hand on World Cup'

Brazil manager Luis Felipe Scolari insists that he remains confident of winning the World Cup on home soil despite their underwhelming passage into the quarter-finals.

Brazil manager Luis Felipe Scolari remains confident of them winning the World Cup on home soil despite their unconvincing passage into the last eight.

The Selecao have relied heavily on Neymar in reaching the quarter-finals, where they will face an impressive Colombia outfit in Fortaleza on Friday evening.

However, Scolari has attacked critics of their performances and his tactics, and insisted that Brazil are still on course to lift the trophy.

"Does Brazil continue to have one hand on the trophy? Yes," he told reporters.

"We are going on to the fifth step and there are seven steps."

Neymar has declared himself fit for tonight's all-South American clash after recovering from injury.
