Half-Time Report: John Swift fires Brentford ahead against Bolton Wanderers

John Swift finds the back of the net to give Brentford a 1-0 lead over Bolton Wanderers at the halfway stage of their Championship meeting.

Brentford are on course to claim successive wins in the Championship after taking a 1-0 half-time lead over Bolton Wanderers in their match at the Macron Stadium this evening.

Following a quiet start to the match, Brentford opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Chelsea loanee John Swift bent a strike from just outside the box past Ben Amos and into the far corner.

Shola Ameobi then almost came up with a quick response for Bolton, but his powerful strike was tipped over by David Button.

Down the other end of the pitch, Alan McCormack threatened a second goal for Brentford with a close-range attempt that Amos managed to keep out.

The Bees continued to look a threat going forward, and Lasse Vibe burst through the home side's defence only to see his effort on goal blocked by the feet of Amos.

Amos was being kept busy in the Bolton goal, and the keeper was called into action once again to push away Swift's volley at the back post to keep his side from going into the break trailing by two goals.
