League One roundup: Wolverhampton Wanderers extend lead at the top

Wolverhampton Wanderers extend their lead in League One thanks to a 3-0 win over Walsall, as Leyton Orient drop points.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have extended their lead at the top of League One with a comfortable 3-0 win at Walsall.

Two goals from Nouha Dicko and a third from Bakary Sako mean that Wolves stay just ahead of their title rivals.

Their closest rivals Leyton Orient could only manage a goalless draw at Notts County, but Brentford produced a good second-half performance to overcome Bradford City 2-0.

Elsewhere, Joe Garner scored twice but missed a penalty as Preston North End beat 10-man Oldham Athletic 3-1, while two goals in three minutes secured Stevenage's comfortable 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers.

Two goals from Chukwuemeka Aneke were not enough to stop Crewe Alexandra from losing 4-2 at Peterborough United, and Tamika Mkandawire scored at both ends as Bristol City beat Shrewsbury Town 3-2.

Gillingham ended a run of poor form as a late Charlie Lee goal earned them all three points against Crawley Town, while Port Vale kept their playoff hopes alive by coming from behind to beat Carlisle United 2-1.

A George Baldock winner in the 93rd minute gave MK Dons a 2-1 victory over promotion rivals Swindon Town, and Colchester United held firm during a late Coventry City flourish to win 2-1.
