League One roundup: Tranmere extend lead at top

Tranmere have extended their lead at the top of League One with victory at Oldham.

Second-placed Sheffield United lost 1-0 at MK Dons, opening the gap to Tranmere to five points.

Stevenage were unable to capitalise on the Blades' loss, going down 4-1 to Preston.

Hartlepool remain bottom of the table with a loss at Yeovil, while Shrewsbury slip further into the relegation places following a 2-1 loss at Leyton Orient.

Bury closed the gap to safety with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth.

Scunthorpe came from behind to beat Coventry, with two goals from Leon Clarke.

Brentford were 2-1 winners over Carlisle.

A first-half goal from Harry Arter was enough to give Bournemouth all three points at Doncaster.

Notts County and Crawley, fourth and fifth in the table respectively, played out a 1-1 draw.

A first-minute goal from Simon Ferry and a second-half strike from Matt Ritchie gave Swindon a win over Walsall
