Albert Adomah and Steven Davies score for Bristol City to lead them to a 2-0 home win against Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Bristol City have defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in their Championship encounter at Ashton Gate.

Marvin Elliott went for goal as early as the fifth minute with a shot from 35 yards, but failed to keep it on target.

Seven minutes later Neil Kilkenny took a shot but he was denied by Jason Steele between the Middlesbrough posts.

At the other end, Marvin Emnes tested Tom Heaton with a speculative effort from 25 yards. Steele was called into action again in the 25th minute when Steven Davies volleyed on target.

City eventually made the breakthrough on 32 minutes through Albert Adomah, who found the target from the edge of the area.

The home side doubled their advantage eight minutes into the second half when Steven Davies turned in Kilkenny's pass from just inside the Boro penalty box.
