Sean Dyche: "We were written off one minute after getting promoted"

Sean Dyche still believes that his Burnley side can avoid relegation from the Premier League, despite losing 1-0 to Leicester to drop five points adrift of safety.

Sean Dyche still has faith in his Burnley side to avoid relegation, despite being rock bottom of the Premier League with just four games to go this season.

Burnley lost at home to Leicester City this afternoon, courtesy of a Jamie Vardy goal midway through the second half.

"It's a cruel game sometimes," Dyche told BBC Sport. "There was nothing in it in the first half. In the second, we created enough chances to win the game.

"We were written off one minute after getting promoted, but we've got the will and commitment. What pleased me today was the patience in the team to create good quality chances. There's growth in the side, but it has to lead to wins.

"It's a cruel business, and today we saw it at its cruelest. But things can change quickly. We've seen that with Leicester. We've been written off for the 57th time this year, but we can only focus on ourselves."

Burnley face West Ham United and Hull City away before hosting Stoke City, then travel to Aston Villa on the final day of the season.
