Cardiff triumphed in the all-Championship Carling Cup fourth round tie at the Cardiff City Stadium this evening, edging out Burnley 1-0.
The visitors started brighter, with Keith Treacy and Ben Mee forcing Bluebirds keeper Tom Heaton into making saves before Joe Mason scored the only goal of the game five minutes before the break.
The 20-year-old striker curled a left-foot effort into the bottom corner to send the home side into the last eight for the first time since 1965.
The draw for the quarter-finals takes place on Saturday.
