Cardiff City offer Kevin McNaughton new deal

Kevin McNaughton earns a new deal at Cardiff City, but five players are let go by the club.

Cardiff City have offered long-serving defender Kevin McNaughton a new deal following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

The 30-year-old, who joined the club from Aberdeen in 2006, had been rewarded for his service to the Bluebirds.

Adedeji Oshilaja, Ronnie Hawkins and young full-back Luke Coulson have also been given new contracts, but the club have decided to release Heidar Helguson and Stephen McPhail, whose contracts expire in June.

Also being let go are Elliott Parish, Nat Jarvis and Jesse Darko.

Seven youth players - Dane Griffiths, Gethyn Hill, Kane Owen, David Richards, Theo Wharton, Josh Yorwerth and Tommy O'Sullivan - have all been handed full-time contracts at the Cardiff City Stadium.
