Sunday's La Liga predictions including Celta Vigo vs. Villarreal

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Celta Vigo vs. Villarreal.

Real Betis will be bidding to strengthen their grip on a European position in the La Liga table when they head to Estadio El Sadar on Sunday afternoon to tackle Osasuna.

The visitors are seventh in the division, two points ahead of eighth-placed Valencia, while Osasuna sit 11th, 10 points behind their opponents in Spain's top flight this weekend.

We say: Osasuna 1-2 Real Betis

Real Betis have only won four of their 16 away league matches this season, but Osasuna are in a very poor run of form, and we are backing the hosts to suffer their 17th league defeat of the campaign on Sunday, with Real Betis boosting their European hopes in the process.

Celta Vigo vs. Villarreal (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Celta Vigo's battle to stay out of the La Liga relegation zone will continue on Sunday afternoon when they welcome European hopefuls Villarreal to the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos.

The hosts are currently 17th in the table, five points above 18th-placed Cadiz, while Villarreal occupy ninth spot, four points behind seventh-placed Real Betis.

We say: Celta Vigo 1-2 Villarreal

Villarreal are in a strong run of form, and although Celta are battling for their lives, we are predicting a narrow away victory here, which would strengthen Villarreal's hopes of a European finish this term. Alexander Sorloth has scored nine times in his last eight league appearances and could be the difference between the two sides in this contest.

Valencia vs. Alaves (Sunday, 5.30pm)

European hopefuls Valencia will be bidding to bounce back from successive La Liga defeats when they continue their campaign at home to Alaves on Sunday evening.

Los Che are eighth in the table, two points behind seventh-placed Real Betis, while Alaves occupy 12th spot, 12 points clear of the relegation zone with five games left to play.

We say: Valencia 2-0 Alaves

Valencia are in need of a win this weekend after two disappointing results, but Alaves are capable of making this a tricky match. That said, we are expecting Los Che to get the job done in front of their own fans, with Hugo Duro potentially adding to the 13 league goals that he has managed this term.

Rayo Vallecano vs. Almeria (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Rayo Vallecano will be looking to take a huge step towards securing their La Liga status for another season when they welcome already-relegated Almeria to the capital on Sunday night.

The home side are 15th in the table, eight points clear of the relegation zone, while Almeria are rock bottom on 14 points, with their demotion being confirmed last Saturday when they lost to Getafe.

We say: Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Almeria

We are not expecting this to be a classic, but it is vital that Rayo secure all three points. Almeria have been a very difficult team to back all season, and we are finding it tough again here, ultimately settling on a narrow success for the hosts on Sunday night.

Sevilla vs. Granada (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Sevilla play host to relegation-threatened Granada in Sunday's La Liga gameweek 34 clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Quique Sanchez Flores's men are keen to end the campaign positively, having avoided defeat in the last four, but they face a motivated side that could lose their top-flight status if this weekend's results go against them.

We say: Sevilla 2-1 Granada

This weekend is anticipated to end Sandoval's mini-revival at Granada. The away side have won just one of their last 11 top-flight derbies against Andalusian sides, and they travel to Sevilla, where they have been defeated in 18 of their 22 visits (drawing two and winning as many).

Backing Sanchez Flores's men to record a sixth home triumph is the logical expectation.
