Neil Lennon believes that his side's 3-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League is not a fair reflection on how the game was played out.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has insisted that his side did not deserve to lose 3-0 to Juventus this evening.

The hosting Bhoys created numerous chances throughout the 90 minutes, but were unable to breach Gianluigi Buffon's net in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

"The scoreline flatters Juventus. For 70-odd minutes we were by far the better side but you can't give away sloppy goals," Lennon told ITV Sport.

Having conceded three away goals, Lennon went on to admit that his side would require a "miracle" to reach the quarter-finals when they travel to Turin for the second leg in March.

"We need a miracle now. That's the harsh reality of Champions League football," he added.

Juventus's goals were scored by Alessandro Matri, Claudio Marchisio and Mirko Vucinic.
