Half-Time Report: Celtic cruising against Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Early goals from Stefan Johansen and Stefan Scepovic give Celtic a 2-0 half-time lead over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Celtic have eased into a 2-0 lead over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the first half of their final match of the Scottish Premiership season this afternoon.

The home side did not need long to open the scoring as Stefan Scepovic bundled the ball home just five minutes in after Inverness failed to clear a Virgil van Dijk free kick.

Ronny Deila's side came close to adding a second just a couple of minutes later as Emilio Izaguirre tried to head the ball in, but Carl Tremarco was back to clear it off the line.

Celtic did double their lead midway through the first half, with Izaguirre charging into the box before cutting the ball back for Stefan Johansen, leaving the Norwegian to slot the ball home.

James Vincent had the best chance of the first half for Inverness shortly before the break when he tried to curl the ball in from 20 yards out, but he failed to force Craig Gordon into action.
