Preview: Celtic vs. St Mirren

Sports Mole looks ahead to Celtic's home clash against St Mirren on Sunday.

Celtic will aim to bounce back from their Europa League defeat in midweek when they return to domestic action against St Mirren on Sunday.

Ronny Deila's side had already qualified for the last 32 heading into Thursday night's clash against Dinamo Zagreb, but after coming from behind and eventually leading, Celtic suffered a 4-3 defeat in Croatia.

In the league, Celtic sit at the top of the table with a three-point lead, and have been in fine form in the Scottish Premiership having won their last seven games in a row.

In contrast, St Mirren sit second from bottom in the top flight and have not secured a victory since October when they snatched a 2-1 triumph over St Johnstone.

In their last six league fixtures, the team have taken just one point, which led to the dismissal of Tommy Craig earlier this week.

Sunday will be the first time that player-coach Gary Teale has taken charge of the team on a caretaker basis, but Celtic are unlikely to go easy on their opponents as they prepare to welcome back Scott Brown and James Forrest.

Both were rested for Thursday's Europa League action, but are likely to return to the starting lineup, while John Guidetti is also available.

For St Mirren, Steven Thompson is likely to lead the line for the visitors at Celtic Park.
