Rangers have hijacked Old Firm rivals Celtic's move for Wigan Athletic midfielder Nick Powell, according to a report.
The 24-year-old is due to be out of contract at the DW Stadium at the end of the season and can sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside of England this month.
Celtic are believed to have already made an approach for the former Manchester United youngster, who has also been touted as a target for RB Leipzig.
According to The Sun, Rangers intend to match the offer made to Wigan by their bitter foes, leaving the decision down to the player.
Powell has four goals and four assists in 18 Championship outings this season.
