Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said that the club will continue talks with Gary Hooper's representatives to agree a new deal for the striker.
The 24-year-old scored The Bhoys' first goal in their 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Celtic's success in the competition has seen Hooper and midfielder Victor Wanyama linked with moves away from Glasgow, but Lennon believes that his players should stay with the club.
"Why would they want to leave now when they have got something special to look forward to?" Lennon told STV. "Not many clubs can offer that.
"Gary's representatives are coming up over the weekend. We're hoping we can finally get something done on a positive note. Hopefully. There is no guarantee."
Hooper has scored 13 goals for Celtic this season.
