Championship 2012-13 schedule confirmed

The Championship fixtures for the new season are announced with Charlton Athletic scheduled to play Birmingham City on the opening day of the campaign.

The Championship fixtures for the new 2012-13 season have been revealed, with newly-promoted side Charlton Athletic due to go head to head with Birmingham City at St Andrew's.

The Blues will host the new boys on August 18 with play-off losers Cardiff City welcoming new Championship side Huddersfield Town to the Cardiff City stadium on the opening day of the season.

Sheffield Wednesday will begin their campaign in the second tier of English football away to Derby County while former Premier League side Bolton Wanderers will go up against Burnley in two months' time.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were also relegated from the top flight, will begin their Championship season away from home against Ipswich Town and Leeds United respectively.
