Adam Bogdan has admitted that he is sad to see Jussi Jaaskelainen leave Bolton Wanderers.
The former Finland international brought an end to his 15-year stay with Wanderers by agreeing terms over a free transfer to West Ham United last week.
Ironically, Bogdan replaced veteran goalkeeper Jaaskelainen in the Bolton net halfway through last season.
Despite taking Jaaskelainen's place in the starting lineup, Bogdan revealed that he was still learning from the 37-year-old.
"It's always sad when a teammate leaves. For me, even more so given that I was fortunate enough to train with him every day, but we'll definitely stay in touch," Bogdan told the club's official website.
"You can't help but learn off someone with his experience. He has taught me so much and for that I'll always have reason to thank him.
"I'm sure that everyone associated with Bolton Wanderers wishes him well and thank him for his service over the last 15 years. He'll always be an absolute legend here."
Bogdan, 24, signed on at the Reebok Stadium in 2007.
