Charlton Athletic captain Johnnie Jackson has revealed that he is eager to sign a new contract with the Championship club.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, is yet to be offered an extension by the Addicks.
Despite Charlton taking their time in discussing terms with him, Jackson is hopeful that fresh terms will be sorted soon.
"It is up in the air but I would obviously love to stay," the Evening Standard quotes him as saying.
"They have not sat down with me yet but I love it here and always have done since I joined. I am captain now and I am enjoying my football more than ever.
"This has been the best part of my career and I want that to continue. I have still got a lot of football left in me and hopefully it will be here at Charlton."
Jackson joined Charlton from Notts County in 2010.
