Chelsea have a 2-0 half-time lead over Nordsjaelland in tonight's must-win Champions League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

David Luiz scored from the penalty spot and Fernando Torres grabbed a goal in the dying moments of the half after both sides had seen previous spot kicks saved.

Chelsea had a chance to take the lead inside the opening seven minutes, but Victor Moses's volley was saved at the near post by Jesper Hansen.

Hansen was called into action again soon after as he denied Fernando Torres and David Luiz.

Chelsea continued to dominate and they almost went ahead in unusual circumstances in the 26th minute as Nicolai Stokholm sliced an attempted clearance from Moses's cross against his own bar.

However, Nordsjaelland were awarded a penalty with 30 minutes on the clock when Gary Cahill was adjudged to have handled in the area. Stokholm stepped up to take it, but he was denied by Petr Cech.

In a frantic few minutes, Chelsea were then given a spot kick when Mikkel Beckmann was penalised for handball. Eden Hazard saw his kick saved though as Jensen got down well to palm the ball away.

Rafael Benitez's side got another penalty with five minutes left to play following Adu's handball and this time Luiz made sure from the spot when he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.

It was 2-0 in the final moments of the half as Torres converted at the second time of asking after his initial effort was saved by Jensen.
