Fernando Torres out for three weeks

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is expected to miss up to three weeks after sustaining a medial collateral ligament injury in the Champions League.

Chelsea have announced that Fernando Torres sustained a knee ligament injury during the team's Champions League match against Steaua Bucharest yesterday evening.

The Spanish striker has a medial collateral ligament, which is expected to keep him off the pitch for three weeks, the club announced in a statement on their website this evening.

Torres picked up the injury just 11 minutes into the clash, which Jose Mourinho's men went on to win 4-0.

The 29-year-old was already set to miss the Stamford Bridge side's trip to Norwich City at the weekend, having been sent off against Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.
