Wednesday's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup: Danny Drinkwater, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemoue Bakayoko

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Wednesday, September 9.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.

The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.

Danny Drinkwater has confirmed that he is hoping to depart Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Despite costing £35m in 2017, Drinkwater has made just 23 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, spending the last campaign on loan at Burnley and Aston Villa respectively.

During his temporary period away from Stamford Bridge, the Englishman failed to make a positive impression, leaving him struggling to attract bids from clubs ahead of the new season.

At a time when Chelsea may be prepared to hand the 30-year-old a free transfer, Drinkwater has acknowledged that he will leave the West Londoners in the near future.

On Instagram, he said: "Back at Chelsea only for pre-season. Working hard, trying to get fit and in the best shape I can be for wherever I go next.

"As much as I would like to be settled at a club like I should be, the unknown is kinda exciting."

Drinkwater still has two years remaining on his contract at the Premier League outfit.

Chelsea 'refusing to budge on Tiemoue Bakayoko asking price'

Chelsea are reportedly refusing to budge on their €30m (£26.98m) valuation of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

With the player having spent the last two seasons out on loan, the Blues are happy to cash in on the France international as soon as possible.

AC Milan, who signed Bakayoko on loan for the 2018-19 campaign, are keen to negotiate another deal for the 26-year-old, potentially on loan with an option to buy.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are playing hardball over an asking price, insisting that they will not agree to a compromise.

Given their desire to sign targets for other position, the report suggests that Milan do not want to pay over €25m (£22.49m).

Bakayoko has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
