Eva Carneiro 'handed FIFA boost in legal battle with Chelsea'

A report claims that former Chelsea medic Eva Carneiro will be handed a major weapon to use in her legal battle against the Blues, should a new medical rule be ratified.

Eva Carneiro has reportedly been given a major boost in her ongoing legal battle with former club Chelsea, as FIFA is said to be prepared to outlaw managers interfering in medical matters.

The Telegraph claims that the new rules on the treatment of players are now on the agenda, following some strong quotes from the former chairman of the governing body's medical department on Saturday afternoon.

Michael D'Hoodghe suggested that any new rule could be ratified by the end of next week, as the case between Carneiro - unhappy with the events surrounding her dismissal from the club - and Chelsea rumbles on.

Should the laws go through, it is claimed that the 42-year-old will have a major weapon in her case.

Carneiro is thought to be seeking a public apology from then-manager Jose Mourinho, who heavily criticised the medic after she entered the field of play to treat Eden Hazard on the opening day of the season.
