Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will reportedly welcome David Luiz back into first-team training this week.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will reportedly include David Luiz in first-team training this week after dropping the defender from the squad against Manchester United.

The Brazilian was replaced by Andreas Christensen in the first XI, and also did not warrant a position in the matchday squad for Sunday's 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Luiz reportedly feels that he is being punished by Conte for his relationship with Diego Costa, who was forced out of the club after allegedly falling out with the manager.

According to The Guardian, the snub was more to do with the defender's questioning of Conte's tactics and his poor form in recent matches.

Despite this, Luiz is expected to be welcomed back into first-team training on Wednesday with the rest of the players who have not received international call-ups.

The 30-year-old has started eight of the Blues' 11 Premier League games this season.
