Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard claims that striking up a fruitful partnership with summer signing Alvaro Morata took no time at all.

Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has claimed that striking up a fruitful partnership with summer signing Alvaro Morata took no time at all.

Morata joined the Blues from Real Madrid for a reported club-record fee of £60m in July and has already scored seven goals in 10 Premier League and Champions League appearances for his new side.

The Spaniard came as a replacement for his fellow countryman Diego Costa, who has since linked up with Atletico Madrid, and Hazard insists that his working relationship with Morata is as good as his previous one with Costa.

"He's a top striker," the Belgian, speaking of Morata, told Chelsea's website.

"When good players play together, they don't need to train two years. When we are on the pitch, we can see the movements he does and his technical ability is good so, with Alvaro – and, before, with Diego as well – it's good.

"I try to have a good connection with my striker because, in my position, it's good to have this player who is like a target man, so I need a good connection with him."

Up next for Chelsea is a Premier League away fixture at Bournemouth on Saturday evening.
