Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle was left feeling 'immensely disappointed' after his side lost 5-1 at home to Chelsea.
A Frank Lampard hat-trick and a brace from former Bolton loanee Daniel Sturridge secured the win for the Blues, while Dedryck Boyata was on the scoresheet for the Trotters.
"My feelings are of immense disappointment," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"First and foremost the fans, they were magnificent and frustrated because we have not given ourselves a chance today, conceding a goal after 90 seconds from a set-piece and the players know better than that.
"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb, not being cut open but individual error - but we came out second half and showed character, scored one goal, scored another not allowed, it would not have made any difference but it did underline that character."
The result was Bolton's fifth successive defeat this season, their worst start to a season in over a century.
