Kevin de Bruyne: 'Lack of games is not easy'

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne admits that his lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge is "not easy".

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has admitted that his lack of games this season is "not easy", but insists that only the club will decide his future.

The Belgium international has made just three Premier League appearances this season, despite being asked to stay by boss Jose Mourinho in the summer.

Plenty of clubs are contemplating a January move for the 22-year-old, who is looking for more game time ahead of next year's World Cup.

However, De Bruyne claims that he has "no regrets" about staying at Stamford Bridge.

When asked if a move away from the club is an option in January, De Bruyne told reporters: "Maybe. But Chelsea is my employer and they decide my future. I don't have to talk about what could happen in January now, as it's only November. A lot can still happen.

"I feel quite good. The fact that I'm playing at Chelsea is proof I always performed well. The manager told me in July that I had to stay, so I'm not a difficult person. I've no regrets.'

"If you don't play a lot at your team, you can't expect to be on top in your first game. It's not easy for me. I don't miss confidence, I only lack match fitness."

De Bruyne spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, scoring 10 goals in 32 appearances in the process.
